Time to Explore the Different Types of Ice Cream
By Ashley
Many people go to the city for eye catching/ aesthetically pleasing desserts, just for the gram and for under $10?!, (bonus you get a full stomach.) I am 95% sure these are some dessert places your friends posted on gram. There are many different types of ice cream, the one of trendy ice cream is rolled ice cream. The ice cream place 10Below and it's been trending for a long time and SUPER satisfying to watch. You select a flavor of ice cream and it is made from scratched (freshly made) and made right in front of you. I highly recommend the 'Cookie Monster', each ice cream is around 7$ with a big amount of ice cream and it is so worth it! Next stop, we have soft serve ice creams, the ice cream that is super swirly and creamy. The ice cream place, Soft Swerve has unique flavors and you wouldn't ever imagine eating bright purple or gray creamy ice cream. I love how they combine the ube purple yam and the black sesame flavor in one swirl. If you don't like such sweet sugary ice cream, this is the place to go and totally worth the 8-9$. Have you ever had fish-shape cake aka called the Taiyaki with soft serve ice cream?? Both Instagram worthy and too cute to eat, but very delicious. With a great combination a popular Japanese snack with soft serve ice cream, I highly recommend their top selling combination the 'Matcha Better' and its around 7-8$. I save the best for the last, egg waffle with ice cream. SUPER crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. At Eggloo, for just 9$, you get to pick the flavor of your BIG egg waffle and any flavor ice cream. The color of the waffle and ice cream makes its aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. I totally agree with Danielle Mak, the blogger of https://spoonuniversity.com/place/where-to-eat-the-best-ice-cream-in-nycs-chinatown that these desserts are the start of some of the trends. According to Mak, she said, "Chinatown is also killing the dessert game keeping up with (and sometimes creating) new ice cream trends." I went to all of the ice cream shops she mentioned and honestly these some high quality desserts you can eat during any seasons, you will be back craving for some more.
